The Community Technology and Economic Development Center was established by partnering with South Plains College and Texas Worksource to create a Distance Learning Lab offering education, healthcare, and emergency service classes, Spanish as a second language and job training. This center also offers GED classes, youth leadership and youth entrepreneurship training.

The Economic Development Center is a community project partnering the City of Crosbyton with the Crosbyton Industrial Foundation. The City of Crosbyton received a USDA Rural Business Opportunity Grant to create the Economic Development Center. The Crosbyton Industrial Foundation also received funding from the ORCA for the Microenterprise Loan Fund to set up a revolving loan fund. This project is a partnership with The City of Crosbyton, Crosbyton Industrial Foundation, Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum, Crosbyton CISD, South Plains College, Texas Worksource and Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
The Center houses the Economic Development Center and director, Jacque James. The EDC encourages economic development through offering loans through the Microenterprise Loan Program set up by the Crosbyton Industrial Foundation and the City of Crosbyton. The Center encourages educational opportunities and job training through its extension. The Economic Development Center offers business planning, management assistance, marketing information and assistance locating financing for business operations.
